Business leaders heard Monday from Superintendent Tom Shelton about the progress of Fayette County Public Schools and intentions in the areas of public engagement, facilities and student achievement.
At a Commerce Lexington gathering, Shelton presented his plan to reorganize the school district's work under five professional learning communities – student achievement, student engagement, staff engagement, family engagement and community engagement – and shared the mission and vision statements for each group. The presentation also included an overview of facilities plans and several innovative district programs.
