Twelve schools in FCPS have been designated 2012 NCEA Higher Performing Schools, which indicates their deep commitment to raising student achievement and putting more youngsters on the path to college and career readiness – regardless of socio-economic barriers or other obstacles.
NCEA found these schools to have consistently outperformed their peers with similar student populations over a three-year period. Congratulations to:

- Cassidy Elementary
- Glendover Elementary
- Julius Marks Elementary
- Meadowthorpe Elementary
- Morton Middle School
- Picadome Elementary
- Rosa Parks Elementary
- SCAPA at Bluegrass
- Veterans Park Elementary
“These schools stand out as shining examples of what can be achieved when staff, students and parents work together toward a unified goal of preparing students for life after high school,” Angela Hall Watkins of ACT Inc. said in a letter to the Fayette County Public Schools superintendent.
