About a dozen students from Fayette County Public Schools picked up awards at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) state conference April 20-22 in Louisville. Members from Bryan Station High School also competed well.
Paul Laurence Dunbar High School
- First place in Introduction to Business: Amit Lowe;
- Runner-up in Entrepreneurship: Xiaowan Chu, Naijiao Zhang and Adil Yusuf;
- Runner-up in Banking and Financial Services: Thomas Huang, Theo Livas and Ben Xie;
- Runner-up in Marketing: Jasmine Liu and Linda Zhang;
- Runner-up in Global Business: Jiningnan Chen, Eric Xiong and Sahil Nair;
- Runner-up in Business Procedures: Tharunika Venkatesan;
- Runner-up in Business Calculations: David Ma;
- Third place in Cyber Security: Eric Cao;
- Third place in Health Care Administration: Kelly Chen;
- Fourth place in Personal Finance: Thirushan Wignakumar.
Tates Creek High School
- First place in Sports and Entertainment Management: Mohammad Ahmad and Robby Drakeford;
- First place in Health Care Administration: Mo Shalash;
- Third place in Management Decision Making: Karam Isa and Nolan Adams;
- Fifth place in Global Business: Muna Shakhashiro and Shanze Arshad.
Future Business Leaders of America develops leadership, communication and team skills, and enables members to network at the local, state and national level. The 2015 national conference is set for June 29 through July 2 in Chicago.
