Carson Crovo of Lafayette (SCAPA) was runner-up in the high school division of the 18th annual Nathaniel Patch Piano Competition, which is sponsored by the Bluegrass Area Music Teachers Association.
About 60 students from across Kentucky and Ohio competed April 23 at the Singletary Center for the Arts. Several from Fayette County Public Schools earned honorable mention: Anna Du of Breckinridge Elementary, William Auer of SCAPA at Bluegrass, Ntinyari Miriti of Lafayette (SCAPA), and Andy Du and Maxwell Qiu of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School.
The contest is named for the late Nathaniel Patch, a professor at the University of Kentucky from 1949 through 1982. This year’s judges were from Kentucky State University, Berea College, East Tennessee State, and Campbellsville University. For questions, contact organizer Nancy Stelter.
