Students from Winburn Middle School once again piled up awards at the annual Kentucky Junior Historical Society’s state conference and the National History Day in Kentucky state competition, held April 25-26 in Louisville. In the latter, the first- and second-place winners will advance to the national contests June 15-19 at the University of Maryland in College Park, and Winburn students are moving on in seven categories. The 2013-2014 theme is “Rights & Responsibilities in History.”
“We are so proud of our students for their hard work, dedication and display of good sportsmanship through the contests,” said social studies teacher Theresa Buczek, who guides this group along with colleague Michelle Cason.
