Several departments in FCPS, in collaboration with community partners, hosted a health fair for families with children enrolled in the Fayette County Preschool Program. The free event, held April 25 at the district’s warehouse facility on Russell Cave Road, featured family activities, snacks, door prizes, and health resources. It also gave families an opportunity to catch up their preschoolers’ health records for school.
Health First Bluegrass offered immunizations, physicals, and dental screenings, while the Walmart Vision Center provided vision screenings, and scheduling assistants helped set up eye exam appointments to fulfill the school enrollment requirements. Other sponsors included the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, Delta Dental, Sam’s Club, Rite Aid, and EyeMed Vision.
Fayette County Public Schools and its partners hope to host another health fair in early August for enrolled preschoolers and incoming kindergarteners. Watch for more information this summer. For details on registration for 2016-2017, visit www.fcps.net/preschool or www.fcps.net/kindergarten.
